Notice for Application

Rights and Obligations of Loss/Stolen of Credit Card

(I)  When your credit card is lost or stolen, the cardholder should notify Citibank by following means: Domestic: Please notify Citibank through phone call or other means promptly for the handling of loss registration procedures. If requested by Citibank, please notify the police department or Citibank with hardcopy within three days upon receiving a notification from Citibank. Overseas: Please call Citibank or call a local bank with VISA/MasterCard credit cards. If the credit card is an emergency replacement card, please contact Citibank upon returning for the re-issuance of new replacement card.
   
(II)  The cardholder has reported the loss or stolen of his/her credit card, losses arising from any fraudulent use of credit card from the time of the loss or stolen, shall be borne by the Citibank. However, at any of the following situations, the loss shall be borne by the cardholder:
   
 
  • The cardholder intentionally allows the credit card for the fraudulent use by a third party.
  • The password for cash advance or other transactions at the automatic facilities or other means to identify the cardholder is known to a third party due to the cardholder's intentional or gross negligence.
  • The cardholder fabricates the transaction or conspires with a third party or a merchant.
   
(III)  Upon notifying Citibank for the handling of loss registration procedures, the cardholder will not be liable of the losses that occurred before the loss registration procedure. However, the cardholder meets the provision specified in Point 2 hereof and one of the following conditions, and Citibank could prove that it has exercised due diligence of a prudent administrator, the cardholder will be held liable for the losses prior to the registration procedure.
   
 
  • The cardholder fails to notify Citibank promptly upon knowing the loss/stolen of the credit card or the cardholder fails to notify Citibank within 20 days from the last payment due date.
  • The fraudulent use by a third party is caused by the cardholder's failure to sign on the signature column on the back of the card.
  • Upon completion of loss registration procedures of the credit card, the cardholder fails to provide the documents requested by Citibank, refuses to assist in investigation, or acts in ways violating good faith.
  • If the lost or stolen card was a credit card fraud committed by the cardholder's spouse, relatives, friends, cohabitants, employer, or representative, and the cardholders had already made an accusation, then these policies do not apply.
  • Contactless payment conducted at an authorized store confirmed to be conducted by the cardholder or conspired by the cardholder and fraudster.

Credit Card Installment Plans and Rates Installment products provide 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 30 periods (Cash advance installment product is not applicable for 3 periods) for the cardholder to apply with annualized percentage rates of 6.75% to 15%. (Cardholder must owe at least NT$3,000 to apply for "Spending/Statement Installment", whereas the cardholder must owe at least NT$10,000 to apply for "Cash Advance Installment")
Settlement of Foreign Transaction with Currency Conversion Fee All the credit card transactions will be settle in NT dollars. If the transaction currency (including refund) is not NT dollars, or is settled overseas (including website set up overseas and authorized stores transaction) in NT dollars, Citibank will convert the amount to NT dollars using the exchange rate of the settlement date listed by Visa/MasterCard. The service fee includes a base transaction fee (Currently, Visa and MasterCard charge both NT dollar and non-NT dollar transactions a service charge that sums up to 1% of the transaction amount) along with 0.5% of the amount of the transaction. Credit card organizations' service fee rates may vary. Details may be found on the back of the monthly statements.
Citibank will consider the cardholder's credit score from all financial institutions (e.g. no delayed payment...etc.), providing all types of cardholders different revolving rates. The revolving rate and the tenor for each cardholder will be determined upon notification.
